3CX Acquires e-works

3CX announced on June 4, 2014 that they have acquired e-works, the Italy based video conferencing developer for it’s revolutionary WebRTC technology to deliver integrated, client-free web conferencing. 3CX initially licensed e-works’ web conferencing technology in October 2013, 3CX has now acquired the company as part of its strategic plan for its video conferencing solution, 3CX WebMeeting.

e-works is an Italian company which was founded in 1999 and focuses on real time video communication and collaboration. e-works has developed a complete and organic video collaboration platform for Unified Communications. This platform includes multipoint video, desktop and app sharing, whiteboard, XMPP communicator for IM, click2video, click2call, sip/h323 phone & gateway. e-works’ mission is to provide businesses with an integrated, easy to use and complete video collaboration experience.

3CX is the developer of 3CX Phone System which is an open standard unified communications platform for Windows that works with standard SIP phones and replaces any proprietary PBX. 3CX Phone System is more manageable than standard PBX systems and delivers substantial cost savings while increasing productivity.
