$550k in Seed Funding
On January 26, 2016 ProctorExam, a Dutch startup, has raised a €500,000 (roughly $550,000) seed round through angel investing platform LeapFunder, which it also used for its 2014 round of funding. The company facilitates secure online examinations for remote students through a secure webcam and screen sharing platform. Founded in 2014, ProctorExam claims to be working with universities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. The company also said in September 2015 that it serves close to 1000 users and is growing by 110 percent each month.
ProctorExam offers a web-based platform to secure online exams. It identifies the exam taker behind the computer and prevents cheating by creating a highly secure environment and it allows universities to propose digital exams without having to buy thousands of computers. Students can bring their own laptop and ProctorExam secures it, so that they cannot cheat.
