On March 16, 2015 Genband announced its Real Time Communications (RTC) Client for Lync to seamlessly combine real-time communications with Lync Instant Messaging (IM) and Presence. The solution’s WebRTC architecture eliminates the need to create, install and maintain discrete applications on multiple devices, offering tremendous cost savings to an IT organization. Additionally, users can access a rich set of UC services including Lync services from any device that supports a WebRTC browser, delivering almost limitless options for connection. GENBAND is commitmented to open standards to assure that the RTC client can be further integrated with multiple business applications via the REST APIs supported in their SPiDR Gateway. Organizations can mash-up UC services, Lync and thousands of web-centric applications.
